Join us on this one-day workshop making your very own high-carbon chef knife!
No prior experience necessary on this instructor-led class where you will experience:
forging your own chef knife blade from scratch
heat treating your own blade
eat lunch while the blade tempers
learn to grind your own blade
attach a beautiful wooden handle
have a drink while the glue sets
then bring home your very own hand-made chef knife!
This is a one day, hands-on class from 8 am to 4 pm where you will get all the support and help needed to walk away with not only a great experience but something you can be proud to use for years to come.
Join us for an easy introduction into blackmithing - learning how to forge your own steel bottle opener!
An easy class requiring no previous experience, you will get to heat up steel and hammer it into your very own project to bring home at the end of the day.
Spend a fun half-day day learning how to carve a beautiful serving spoon!
Includes all the support and help needed, materials and use of tools to learn a new craft while having fun.
The class is a relaxed 4 hour workshop from 12 noon to 4 pm at Nordic Edge in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches, Sydney.
This guided workshop will take you through the process of selecting materials and the relaxing process of making your own wooden spoon. After a safety briefing you will receive tools and materials. Then we will spend a few hours together slowly carving a spoon.
Included:
All materials required (spoon blank in wood, sand paper, food safe organic wood finish)
Use of other hand tools, based on your design (small axe, saw, chopping block, vice, clamps)
Cut-resistant gloves for limited protection against the tools
All instructions and support required on the day
Hands-on Blacksmithing Workshop
Come spend a fun day with us on this practical introduction to Blacksmithing, and go home with your very own hand forged results to show for it! Full day from 12 - 6 PM including lunch, tools, supplies and all the help needed to have a great day and learn something about the old trade of blacksmithing.
You will experience shaping steel with hammer and fire, as well as learn a bit about the forge, anvil, tools and techniques used in blacksmithing.
1-day hands-on experience where you will make your own bottle opener as well as another small project like a coat hook, forged skull coin or similar small project.
Included:
Blacksmithing overview: Tools, processes, safety briefing
All materials required (carbon steel, hammers, tongs, anvil, gas forge, PPE)
Forging your own project(s) with hammer and anvil
All instructions and support required
Lunch included from a local cafe
